LEGO ADVENT CALENDAR, DECEMBER 22nd: We're down to the nitty-gritty. So close to the big day. This is when LEGO stops being esoteric and starts being Christmassy. My argument would hold more water if today's gift wasn't a HELICOPTER.
It's a nice one, at least. As with some of the previous gifts, I'm a little unclear on its purpose. Is it a toy for LEGO children, or are we meant to suspend our disbelief and imagine it as a real, functional LEGO helicopter? Probably the former, because no kid can survive the frustration that comes with trying to fit a little LEGO figure into an even littler LEGO helicopter. I'm 87 years old, and it still put me in tears.
There are only two gifts left. TWO. Two chances for LEGO to right their wrongs and make me believe that, Naked Santa aside, any of this had to do with Christmas. Place your bets. -Matt
