Giant Coconut Crabs
The Giant Coconut Crabs were alluded to at the start of the
2008 year. The crew were no longer living in the mansion that housed everyone in 2007, due to a crab attack sometime during the summer. This took place sometime before September based on
Kuse's diary entries, and after March due to a flashback prior to the 2009 story arc. They are also able to shape shift into other animals, and are used as attack creatures by
Arcano.
Timeline of Events
March 2008: Disguised as Lions and Elephants, the Crabs attack the circus and drive out the occupants.
Summer 2008: The crabs attack the mansion and force the crew to relocate to the circus where Arcano is waiting.
December 2008: The crabs are again disguised as various
Lionesses and
Elephants until Arcano is ready.
Barnum is the only one who sees through the guise, and attacks them, but is blamed for the violence. Since he was part of the original circus crew, he knows the truth, but is unable to speak.
December 2009:
Kuse,
Knacks, and
Mare have been kidnapped and the crabs are guarding the exit until they claw through the walls.
