Prior to December, two legomen (
Kuse and
Knacks) set out in search of
Mare's remains. The intend to start a cult based around her and once they find her skeleton, they resurrect her from the dead. She is no longer evil as death provided a new perspective, however being so close to December, she insists they rush off to open the first Calendar box.
They begin opening the gifts each day, and we find out that Kuse is Jewish as well as having no face. Initially Knacks worships Mare, while Kuse is indifferent and is often taunted, especially when a picture of his dead dog is placed on the mantle to remind him of his pain. Once a gift of a fully decorated Christmas tree arrives, they both grow to like the season a bit more and celebrate with some sushi.
They don't care for sushi all that much after revealing that no one really had tried it before, but they do partake in the sake. Soon after they are all too drunk to move, but remember that they forgot to open the day's box. When they do, the waiter appears within it and needs a place to stay.
Waiterbot, still named despite no longer being part of a robot but instead a disembodied head, starts to become a nuisance around the place. He begins with smaller insults, but eventually opens a box that Mare deliberately wanted to avoid. This brings about another Mare sister known as
Claire. Claire initially says her evil ways are over as well, but soon reveals her true intentions. After finding a bomb, she compromises Waiterbot's alliance to the team by offering him a new body.
As Claire continues her plans to destroy Mare, she enslaves a new addition named Random Jim and wants to burn a kitten, causing Waiterbot to start turning against her. Kuse and Knacks are instructed by Mare to retrieve a magic wand, so they may use the spellbooks against Claire.
The spell manifests a giant Megamare that emerges from what Claire thought was a stolen Calendar box. Claire instructs Waiterbot to fight her, with the victory deciding who gets all the gifts. Waiterbot loses his host body and resumes a head-form. The good team celebrates. However they free Random Jim only to have Waiterbot assume his body soon after.
The crew notices Jim's absence, but no one really misses him. Waiterbot wanders off to a time machine, as Claire returns ready for battle. Megamare quickly ties her up, but Claire reveals that the bomb she had earlier is strapped to Santa's Calendar box. Being December 23, the crew knows they must get there soon.
Mare volunteers to go alone. As she frees the bomb and saves Santa, it detonates and she is seemingly killed. The box appears back at home base, and Santa pops out. Santa agrees to take care of Claire, but can't kill her due to new Santa-related rules. He instead traps her in ice, so she can't harm anyone else. He also informs them that Mare's spirit is still alive. She was sent into the past, but Waiterbot's time traveling intercepts this, and his pet cat, now huge, eats her.
