Santa 2004 was almost killed by Claire when she placed a bomb next to his box as revenge for being defeated. Santa vowed to never take a life after previous Santas had abused that power, so he imprisoned her in ice. Mare died saving Santa, so he had sent her spirit back in time to be reincarnated. Waiterbot foiled that plan when his pet kitty grew to an enormous size from too many treats and ate her.
He reappeared the following year to assign the two Calendars to Kuse and Knacks then retired to his home for the season. After Santa 2005 appeared early, he started acting like his wasn't going to pass the reigns over at the end of the year. Waiterbot ended up assuming his body, thus settling the conflict.
